Birmingham-Southern is a special place that you just don't find every where.  I love that I still stay in touch with the friends, staff, and faculty that I met as a student, and, that now as a staff member, I am still forming new friendships within our campus community.

I’m a 2005 graduate of Birmingham-Southern College and I began working for the BSC Admission Office in 2007.  As a student, I was a member of BSC’s Cross Country team and served on the freshman orientation staff at 'Southern.  I’m currently an Admission Counselor and assist with the ’Southern Ambassadors student tour guide program on campus.  I work with students from southeast Alabama, Georgia, and central/south Florida.  In the Birmingham area, I work with students attending John Carroll Catholic and Shades Mountain Christian high schools.  If you have any questions, please email me at ccalvert@bsc.edu.

You know that friend of a friend who seems to have it all?  Great looks, really smart, stylish clothes, athletic, and is steadfastly dependable for anything and everything, and you just want to hate that person for having all of the things that you don't?  Then you meet this perfect person and realize that they have a fun, easy-going personality, and possess a deep sense of humility?  You are instantly friends and wonder whether or not you've known this perfect person your entire life?  That sums up how I feel about BSC.

It wasn’t that long ago that I was a high school student just like you, trying to decide where I wanted to attend college.  I chose BSC and graduated in 2002.  I came back to the Hilltop in 2006 as an Admission Counselor, and today I work with students from Vestavia Hills High School, and Blount, DeKalb, Jackson, Limestone, Madison, Marshall, and Morgan counties in Alabama.  I also serve those students in Middle Tennessee and the state of Kentucky.  As the advisor of the BSC Freshman Volunteers, I help coordinate student hosts with prospective students on campus.  If you have any questions, you can reach me at cforsyth@bsc.edu.

I love that BSC is such a friendly campus.  It is almost impossible for me to walk from one side of campus to the other without stopping to talk with someone—I love that!

I, too, went to Birmingham-Southern; I graduated in 2003.  I started working in the BSC Admission Office in 2005.  As a student, I was a Resident Advisor and House Director.  As part of my job as an admission advisor, in the state of Alabama, I work with students from Homewood, Gardendale, Fultondale, Mortimer Jordan and Corner high schools, as well as students from the southwestern counties in Alabama including Mobile, Baldwin, and Escambia.  I also work with students from the Panhandle region of Florida and I’m advisor for the ’Southern Ambassador student tour guide program on campus.  If you have any questions, please email me at afrohock@bsc.edu.

I love BSC because of the sense of "community" that fills the campus—it's everywhere.  Students, faculty, and staff all seem to mesh together like one, happy family.

I graduated from Birmingham-Southern College in 2003 with a B.A. in Musical Theatre.  While attending ‘Southern, I was a Resident Advisor, a member of the Hilltop Singers, and served as president of Alpha Psi Omega.  I am currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Public and Private Management at BSC, and work as the Transfer Advisor in the Office of Admission.  I’m also active in the Athletics Department as head cheerleading coach for the BSC panthers.  I’m a native of Decatur, Alabama.  You may contact me at dporter@bsc.edu.

I have been fortunate enough to be associated with Birmingham-Southern from the time I was a college student until today, and that’s a long time!  I graduated from BSC in 1985 and immediately went to work here recruiting students.  Today, as Dean for Enrollment Management, I am blessed to work so closely with all the college’s admission and financial aid professionals.  I also was known to play some tennis back in the day, and also still sing a little!  We hope you will visit us soon and see our beautiful campus and experience our wonderful people, and our new Admission Welcome Center.  If you have questions about BSC or the admission process or about any of our staff, please email me at ssalmon@bsc.edu.

I love BSC because I was welcomed into its community from day one.  As a prospective student, student, alum, and employee, I know that everyone at BSC is here to help me use my 'Southern experience to become a better person and that I will extend the same helping hand to all other members of the BSC family.

I graduated from Birmingham-Southern in 2006.  While I was here as a student, I was a resident advisor, house director, and worked and performed in the BSC theatre.  I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre.  In Birmingham, I work with Shades Valley High School, Jefferson County International Baccalaureate School, and Alabama School of Fine Arts.  I also work with students from Texas, Mississippi, and the central north and northwest regions of the United States.  If you have any questions, please e-mail me at ryeager@bsc.edu.

It’s quite likely that I will be the first person you talk to when you call Birmingham-Southern and the first person you see when you visit campus (except for our Campus Police at the main entrance).  My job is to make sure your visit to BSC is as smooth and productive as possible.  In addition to my campus visit duties, I also am a House Advisor in a BSC residence hall.  If you want to schedule a visit to BSC or have any questions about the college or the admission process, please email me at bbaxter@bsc.edu or call 800-523-5793, extension 4696.
