PLUS Lender List
Steps to Obtaining Your Loan: PLUS Loan Limits:
- Select a lender from the list or choose your own lender.
- Contact your selected lender to receive instructions on applying for the PLUS Loan and e-signing your Master Promissory Note (MPN) if this is your first PLUS loan for this student. (Each year you must initiate a PLUS Loan credit approval with your lender. Completion of the MPN is only required the first year you receive a PLUS Loan, if you remain with the same lender.)
- Complete the PLUS Loan Request Form on the list of forms for the appropriate year and list your preferred lender.
- You may borrow our cost of attendance less other financial aid (this amount is calculated on the award letter to the student).
- If borrowing to cover a balance due, make sure you are borrowing enough for two semesters if that is your intent.
In making your lender choice for a Federal Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS Loan), you may wish to consider the following lenders. You have the right to choose your lender. However, these lenders have served our students and parents very well. We have selected these lenders for their service, benefits, and customer service. Birmingham-Southern receives no financial incentives as a result of this listing.
