In the 2009 issue of the Fiske Guide to Colleges, Birmingham-Southern was again named a Best Buy for the quality of academic offerings in relation to the cost of attendance. BSC was one of only 26 private institutions in the nation—and the only public or private institution in Alabama—included in this annual publication. BSC represents an excellent value in today's higher education marketplace. Watch BSC President David Pollick discuss the value of a Birmingham-Southern education. We’re more affordable than you might think because we find creative ways to award financial aid to more than 90% of our students. Another thing to keep in mind is that the vast majority of our students graduate in four years, eliminating the cost required to stay for a fifth or even sixth year. In fact, follow a prescribed plan, and we’ll guarantee you graduate in four years. You can also compare four-year graduation rates between schools in Alabama. Scholarship and Financial Aid OpportunitiesBirmingham-Southern College offers a wide array of financial aid opportunities to help you fund your college education. BSC awards an average of $15,000 in institutional aid to qualifying students. If you are interested in BSC financial aid opportunities, begin the process by completing an online FAFSA application using code number 001012 as the Title IV School Code.
