Interest-Free Monthly Payment Option

Education expenses are easier to pay when spread over predictable, interest-free monthly payments. Our Interest-Free Monthly Payment Option, offered in partnership with Tuition Management Systems, is an alternative to large annual or term payments and helps limit borrowing. It is available for a small enrollment fee and includes:

In addition, free Education Payment Counseling helps you make informed choices about minimizing your loan debt by combining this payment option with a school-approved, educational loan of your choice. The Student Accounts Office will mail Monthly Payment Plan information to students in June of each year. You may contact the Student Accounts Office at 205-226-7870 or 1-800-523-5793, extension 7871 for more information.

How to Pay Your Bill

The Student Accounts Office sends statements and is in charge of Student Billing; here is the link to their web site: http://www.bsc.edu/administration/finance/stu-acc.htm; This link also includes the mailing address.

You will first need to estimate the charges; you can use the fee schedule for the appropriate academic year using: http://www.bsc.edu/administration/finance/tuition.htm

You can use the Student Account Cost of Attendance Calculator – a red menu item on the right had side of the Student Accounts main page and save it to your computer; you can list all the direct charges on the Cost of Attendance Calculator and you may wish to include an estimate for books/supplies (an annual estimate is on the financial aid main web page).

Next use the appropriate semester column of your Financial Aid Award Letter (available on TheSIS or mailed to you if a new student) to fill in the financial aid.

Don’t include any amount from work programs – students are paid directly; these funds cannot be placed directly on the student account.
Reduce your Stafford Loan and PLUS loan term amounts by approximately 3% to account for any federal fees that will reduce the amount of the funds when they are sent to BSC.

The amount due to BSC can be paid on-line through another portion of the Student Accounts web page: https://www.bsc.edu/administration/finance/secure/form-payment.htm, paid by mail, or through use of the 10 month payment plan.

All students need to complete a Guarantee Agreement from the Student Account Forms page.
