Saturday, Feb. 11—Fine & Performing Arts Scholarship Day is an opportunity for high school seniors to compete for renewable scholarships in Fine & Performing Arts. Students must apply for admission to the College by February 1, 2012.

Sunday, Feb. 12—Reception with the President is a unique opportunity for admitted students to meet and interact with our new college president, General Charles C. Krulak, as well as other members of the BSC campus community. Additional receptions are scheduled for Feb. 19 amd Mar. 11.

Wednesday, Feb. 29—Rushton Scholarship Competition (for invited candidates)

Sunday, Mar. 4 –5—Select 'Southern (for admitted students)

Monday, Apr. 2-3—Southern Hospitality (high school counselors)

June 17-22-- Student Leaders in Service is a week-long residential program for high school students who will be juniors or seniors in the 2012-2013 academic school year, The program will provide opportunities to lean about leadership, community engagement, and active citizenship.

The January Exploration Term at Birmingham-Southern College gives students an exciting change of pace: new projects on campus that address a variety of interests, chances to go global with faculty members, creative research, internships, or opportunities to do independently contracted study experiences across the state and nation—all for academic credit.

Lakeview North and South are the first residence halls on a college campus in Alabama to be recognized as meeting green building certification standards.

BSC graduate earns prestigious Fulbright grant
Lexi Sack, Class of 2011 Harrison Honors Scholar and a summa cum laude graduate, was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship.

The New York-based education services company, in partnership with the U.S. Green Building Council, features the college in its new "Guide to 286 Green Colleges.
