Could the problems with attention and learning in kids be caused by brain damage or by the environments they live in? Four years of study in biology-psychology can lay the groundwork to help you build a better understanding of these types of questions.

One of Birmingham-Southern’s most unique interdisciplinary programs, the biology-psychology major is designed to teach you about the biological influences that govern behavior and thought. What’s more, you will have the opportunity to engage in some key laboratory and observational techniques used by both biologists and psychologists.

A biology-psychology major will give you highly marketable skills for job-hunting. And the major will prepare you for a number of graduate programs, including those in the neurosciences, physiology, physiological psychology, and behavioral biology. It also provides excellent preparation if you plan to go into any of the health professions.
